Original French 23 inch x 31 inch Poster for the 1968 Don Siegel Crime Drama MADIGAN, based on the novel “The Commissioner” by Richard Dougherty and starring Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda, Inger Stevens, Harry Guardino, James Whitmore, Susan Clark, Don Stroud, Sheree North, Warren Stevens and Raymond St. Jacques.

For him everything’s either right or wrong – there’s nothing in between. Widmark stars as the tough New York detective who sets out to track down a deranged killer in Siegel’s exciting melodrama. A step by step guide to the intricacies of a police investigation and the effect that the horrors of the street can have on personal lives of the men involved.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D’Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.
