Original British 12 inch x 9 1/2 inch 8 Page illustrated Campaign Book for the 1955 Philip Dunne Drama PRINCE OF PLAYERS, based on a play by Eleanor Ruggles and starring Richard Burton (as Edwin Booth, brother of John Wilkes Booth, the man who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln), Maggie McNamara, John Derek (as John Wilkes Booth), Raymond Massey, Charles Bickford, Elizabeth Sellars, Eva Le Gallienne and Richard Deacon.
The film is about the early career of the 19th century American actor, Edwin Booth and also includes the events leading to the assassination of President Lincoln by Edwin’s brother, John Wilkes Booth. In the film, Edwin’s days in the spotlight dwindle shortly after his brother is caught and killed for assassinating Lincoln..
