Original Polish 15 inch x 42 1/4 inch Poster for the 1963 Lindsay Anderson Rugby Drama THIS SPORTING LIFE, based on the novel by David Storey and starring Richard Harris, Rachel Roberts, Alan Badel, William Hartnell, Colin Blakely, Vanda Godsell, Anne Cunningham, Arthur Lowe, George Sewell, Leonard Rossiter, Frank Windsor, Edward Fox, Glenda Jackson, Anton Rogers and David Storey.

Frank Machin, a tough miner, becomes a rugby league star. He tries to have a relationship with his widowed landlady but she regards him with a mixture of fear and disgust.

Poster art by Stanislaw Zamecznik (1909 – 1971). A Polish graphic artist, poster artist, scenographer and architect. Zamecznik was a professor of State Higher School of Fine Arts, Poznan, now the Academy of Fine Arts
